I am interested in studying microbes. I completed my PhD from VIT University Vellore in 2014, working on secondary metabolites from Streptomyces. Later I worked as a guest faculty in Kuvempu Universty, Karnataka. I always wanted to explore plant-microbe interactions, and currently I am studying the Methylobacterium species associated with different rice landraces. Rice is one of the most important cereals of the world, but the landraces grown in India’s North-Eastern states are poorly studied. It is very fascinating how tiny organisms can play a huge role in the environment. My project is funded by a chemical ecology grant from the Dept of Biotechnology (DBT).
Apart from work, I like listening to music, dancing and watching movies.
