My research interest is broadly in the area of bacterial community interactions, what is/are their advantage(s) and how they evolve. Currently, I’m working on synonymous codon mutants of Methylobacterium extorquens. I’m trying to find out if single nucleotide polymorphisms acquired by these mutants during evolution can confer fitness when in the ancestral genomic background.
Outside the lab, I like singing, playing tennis, sketching, learning new languages and reading. Right now, I’m trying to learn Kannada.
